The Richelieu Leger Family Association, Inc.
The 2011 Richelieu Leger Reunion was held at the Blue Marlin Facilities in Carencro (Use of these facilities was generously donated to the Association).
Doors opened at 8:30AM. The Registration Committee headed by Joyce Lege began registration at 9:00AM. The Genealogy booth, manned by Lou Leger and the Genealogy Committee, opened at 9:00 AM and was available until 4:00PM.
Welcome ceremonies began at 11:00am with a greeting from the
association president, Butch Leger, followed by the invocation, the national Anthem,
and the the Pledge of
President, Butch Leger, presided at the short meeting.
The Genealogy Committee aided Legers looking for answers to their genealogical questions. There was a computer database and printer providing access and print-outs of the Leger database. Also available were a full set of Fr. Hebert's "Southwest Louisiana Records". Vintage family pictures were brought in and displayed. These will be put in the archives of the Leger Association.
Throughtout the day, many door prizes were awarded.
There were many items available for purchase: Leger T-Shirts, Leger Cook books, and Copies of the Leger Addendum.
The Raffle Committee held a silent auction for a handmade baby quilt by member, Arine Prejean
After a delicious "Bring a Dish" lunch, Members enjoyed visiting, music and dancing to the music of the band, "Moi J'aime Ca Comme Ca".
