2019 Reunion

The 2017 Richelieu Leger Reunion was held on August 3 rd at the Woodman of the World Hall in Abbeville, Louisiana

 Doors opened at 10:00 AM.  The Registration Committee headed by Joyce Lege began registration at 10:00AM. The Genealogy Table was manned by Lou Leger and Lauralee Reugger.  The Sales Table, was Manned by Jenetta and Kelly Touchet. Both were open for business by 10:00 AM and were available until 4:00 PM.

Welcome ceremonies began at 11:00am with a greeting from the association president, Butch Leger, followed by the invocation, the national Anthem was sung by Connie Lege Rost and Monica Lege Theriot.
President, Butch Leger, presided at the short general meeting. 

Association Genealogist, Lou Leger announced that the Ancestors on the Association website was extended to include people born thru 1920. Also available were updates to the books, "Leger Ancestors in Louisiana" that were purchased at the 2017 reunion.  These updates included all Male Leger information accumulated since 2017 reunion and also the people born between 1910 - 1920 that are in our database.

A Board meeting was convened and a new Board member, Lenray Leger was voted in to replace Mona Tramonte.

The Genealogy Committee aided Legers looking for answers to their lineage questions.  There was a computer database and printer providing access and print-outs of the Leger database.  Also available were a sample of Fr. Hebert's "Southwest Louisiana Records". 

Throughtout the day, many door prizes were awarded.

There were items available for purchase:  Leger T-Shirts, Leger Cook books, and the history book, "Le Guardien", and "Leger Ancestors in Louisiana".

A sucessful silent auction was held for the benefit of the Association.  Several beautiful items were available.

After a delicious "Bring a Dish" lunch, Members enjoyed

visiting, and dancing to the live music of the band, "Les Envie".

A dance contest was won by Sheryl and Kim Thibodeaux.


Addending members purchased History Books, Ancestor Books, and numerous T-Shirts as well as several Cook Books.

A small profit on each item sold goes to offset the cost of the Reunion.

All in All, a very sucessful Reunion, hopefully enjoyed by all and hope to be repeated in 2021.
