Richelieu Leger Family Reunions 2022 to DATE

    The 2022 Richelieu Leger Reunion was held on October 8th at the Palmetto Island State Park in Abbeville, Louisiana 

   Festivities began at 10:00 AM.  The Registration Committee headed by Connie and Randy Lege began registration at 10:00AM.

   The Genealogy Table was manned by Lou Leger and Lauralee Reugger. Books were available for sale.

   The Sales Table, was Manned by Jenetta and Kelly Touchet. Both were open for business by 10:00 AM and were available until 4:00 PM. 

   Welcome ceremonies began at 11:00am with a greeting from the association vice president, followed by the pledge of allegiance. Vice President, Sue Lege Neveaux, presided at the short general meeting.  

   A Board meeting was conveaned and the board members remained unchanged.

   Our Genealogist, Lou Leger was on hand for requests for research and information about ancestors in our database. She answered many request from home in the following days.

   Throughout the day, many door prizes were awarded.

   There were items available for purchase:  Leger T-Shirts, Leger Cook books, and the history book, "Le Guardien", and "Leger Ancestors in Louisiana".

   A sucessful silent auction was held for the benefit of the Association.  Several beautiful items were available. 

   After a delicious "Jambalaya" lunch, Members enjoyed visiting, and dancing to the live music of the band "Les Envie".

Dance contest winners:

   1 st place - Clara Leger and Keneth Clark

   2 nd place - Arlene and Kevin Ballenger

   3 rd place - Sharon Lege and Sandra Zulli

Attending members purchased History Books, Ancestor Books, and numerous T-Shirts as well as several Cook Books. A small profit on each item sold goes to offset the cost of the Reunion.

All in All, a very successful Reunion, hopefully enjoyed by all and hope to be repeated in 2024.
